Kadaria Ahmed: The Folly Of A Journalist | Tellwell Newspaper
By I.M. Al-Amin
Reeding through Kadaria Ahmed’s “Anti Inside Stories Journalism” which I’m afraid Kadaria most have forgotten, or perhaps fallen into “Sigmund Freud’s Slip Theory” otherwise many of us have personally came to know of the existence of Jerry Adams “Sein Fein” and all the Activities of the Irish Republic Army (IRA) through several of BBC’s programmes especially the famous “News Hour” and other Special Inside Stories anchored by its uncountable most respected presenters.
I don’t think that Censorship of the activities of all Forms of Insecurity as orchestrated by Terrorists Organisations, Bandits Groups as well as Drugs and Kidnapping Cartels can add or subtract anything to the conscience of the General Public. In fact it even serves as a viable tool to amplify Government’s serious anxiety in completely laying them up from the Scene. A professional team working strategy that counts in accordance with the official protocol of International Intelligence Agencies.
“Newsweek and Time Magazines” of blessed memory were in the Seventies at the forefront in reporting what Kadaria is challenging right now. I remember through my readings in the Eighties of those Two Reputable Newspapers (Newsweek and Time) who often make their reports with Filmed Footage and Pictures of such “Terror Kings” from their enclaves.
The “Fatah of Abū Nidāl” within the PLO was considered to be one of World’s most dangerous Terror Groups. And like the Peruvian Guerrilla Group, the “Shining Path” and its leaders, Abimael Guzman, the Colombian Medellín, Cali, Norte del Valle, and North Coast, as well as several “Bandas Criminales” with the names of “Pablo Escobar” and his Commanders featuring immensely were carelessly reported by BBC as well as almost all the media outlets of the World that were packaged with unbearable and unbelievable documentaries.
In August, 1979, “Lord Mountbatten”, a British Royal and a former Governor General in India and three members of his holiday party died after the IRA blew up his boat, BBC reported the Sad News with all the details attached to IRA’s atrocities including giving an Inside Story over their activities in accordance with the incident.
CNN had on several occasions documented stories on “Al-Qaeda”, meeting and interviewing “Osama Bin Laden” right into his Hideout in the Mountainous Regions of Tora Bora, Kandahar and across the Tribal Areas of Indo-Pakistan.
What i believe in the Philosophy of Media Coverage of the Nefarious activities of these Notorious People is the same in weight in the “History Documentation” of Events, that is supposed to serve as an “Intelligent Report” to Security Agencies for them to swing into action if at all they seriously mean business in the Game.
Whenever “Media Reports” of criminal activities like those of Bõko Harām for instance are blocked, that will give way for People to be more enslaved and entangled to a “Psychological War” more deadly than what is obtainable on the Frontline where the crime is actually happening. You just can’t stop reporting Dirty News because someone else will be hurt.
News is for sure one side of “Victory” once it is reported correctly because it gives Peoples and Governments Time and ways to Prepare well ahead of attack, and even work well in changing the Fighting Tactic and Technique.
BBC’s documentary over the activities of the Bandits across “Northern Nigeria” particularly in the North-West and Central Regions of Nigeria is a rewarding Piece because it will serve as an opener to the the minds of millions across the Region to wake up in doing the needful.
We wouldn’t know whether Kadaria Ahmed was all out in her article to settle scores with her former employers on undisclosed bills. Only God knows Best.
