Zamfara ADC trains 200 women, youths on livelihood skills | Tellwell Newspaper
From Abdulkarim Umar Kaura, Gusau
The Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State has commenced the training of 200 youths and women in the state on different skills.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the state chairman of the party, Kabir Garba Gusau, said the skills acquisition training was an expression of the party’s concern about the rate  of unemployment, especially among the women, leading to the divorce of many married women across the state.
He said the gesture was in line with the  ADC mission 2023 to curtail the menace of insecurity, poverty, hunger, unemployment among women and teeming young generation,
Garba urged the beneficiaries to concentrate more on the skills acquired, rather than relying on white kola jobs, adding that it is high  time for women and  youths to engage themselves in different skills in order to be self-reliant and useful members of the society.
In her remarks, the ADC state Women Leader, Hajiya Maryam Abdullahi, said the skills acquisition training, which covers Tailoring, Henner, Detergents/Soap Making,  and many others, would reduce redundancy and create job opportunities to the women in the state.
In their separates goodwill massages, Zamfara ADC governorship candidate running mate, Jafaru Salisu, urged the participants to  concentrate on the training in order to benefit from  the gesture.
