Adamawa APC Crisis: Plan to Remove Chairman Thickens | Tellwell Newspaper
• Allegations Creation Of Rumour Mill – Spokesman

From Mohammed Ismail, Yola
Crisis was brewing in the All Progressives Party (APC) in Adamawa State over alleged gross misconduct by its State Chairman, Ibrahim Bilal.
Sources in the party told Tellwell Newspaper that the aggrieved executive council members of the party are already compiling signatures to obtain sufficient legal backing to remove him from office.
According to some of the complaints, the offences warranting his removal border on impunity, corruption, dereliction of duty, alleged financial wrongdoings and the dearth of capacity to run a complex system like APC because he is unlettered.
“The chairman has perpetrated a number of unpardonable atrocities, including entrenching the highest level of corruption, dereliction of duty, primitive accumulation of wealth at the detriment of other party excos, abuse of office, executive impunity, economic malfeasance, corruption and indiscipline,” the source complained to our correspondent.
“The chairman also lacks character, carriage and most importantly the educational background to run a big and complex organization like our great party,” he said.
He continued: “In his years of stewardship, Bilal has converted the party to his personal belonging, while the executives of the party were made his serfs and has been unilaterally running the party like his personal investment with little regards to code of conduct and other extant procedures guiding the administration of an important institution like our great party.”
Efforts to contact the chairman, as at reporting time, proved abortive as multiple calls,as well SMS and WhatsApp messages, to his number were not responded to.
However, dismissing such move as another creation of the rumour mill, the party’s spokesman, Abdullahi Mohammed, said the story is unfounded and is archetypal to beer parlour gossip.
“You cannot just sit down and collect signatures and say you’re sending somebody. There are processes that you need to follow.
“Sometimes people are exaggerating things. The constitution provides for fair hearing even if there are allegations on someone, he must be served with the allegations and be given the opportunity to respond and clear his name,” he said.
