The Nigerian Army has been charged to work in synergy with other security agencies to surmount the current security challenges rocking the country.
The charge was given by the Commander Armoured Corps, Major General Suleiman Idris, during the inspection of a Joint military exercise codenamed, EXERCISE ENDURING PEACE, hosted by 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi.
Major General Idris commended the participants of the exercise for imbibing team spirit and sharing professional experiences necessary for successful military operations.
He said current security challenges require continuous training and synergy amongst various security agencies working to achieve a common goal. He urged the troops to take advantage of the exercise to improve their professional conduct in the field.
Also speaking, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3-Division Nigerian Army, who doubles as Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali, said the improved synergy among security agencies had led to successes in current operations across the Division’s area of operations.
He reiterated the imperative for the joint training towards achieving the cardinal pillar of the Chief of Army Staff’s vision which is “to have a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a Joint Environment in Defence of Nigeria.”
The GOC said the dynamics of the current security challenges required the various security agencies to train together and understand the roles of each in securing lives and properties of the citizens.
He charged officers of the Division to live above the challenges posed by insecurity by synergizing with other security agencies deployed in their area.
Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Brigadier-General John Adeyemo, said the exercise was in fulfilment of the Chief of Army Staff’s directives aimed at upscaling training of troops towards ending the security challenges in the country.
