Tellwell Newspaper, Abuja – Nigeria:

Governor Darius Ishaku’s contest for Southern Taraba Senatorial seat would be a smooth sail as there is no formidable challenge to his ambition, an aide to the governor said.
In an exclusive chat with Tellwell Newspaper in Jalingo, Special Adviser to Governor Ishaku on Political Matters, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, said his principal’s emergence as the next Senator from the area had already been decided.
“There is no shaking in the Governor’s political victory,” Bawa affirmed.
“I don’t think that there is any serious person contesting with Governor Ishaku in Southern Taraba. This is because of his performance and relationship with the people from the Zone,” he further said.
The governor had declared his interest to take a shot at the Senate in the forthcoming 2023 elections at the expiration of his second term in office, the political adviser said.
Bawa assured that the communal unrest in Southern Taraba would not affect Governor Ishaku’s political chances.
“Governor Ishaku is not the architect of the communal clashes rocking the Zone.
He is trying his best for the people in Southern Taraba to coexist peacefully with one another,” Bawa said
Commenting on the electioneering campaigns for 2023 polls that have commenced across the country, Bawa called on Taraba youths to conduct themselves in a peaceful and matured manner.
